Penn State hosted Military Appreciation Day over the weekend as they hosted Navy in football. The day was filled with pageantry, including a military fly over, a parade of champions and salutes to our nation's veterans and those currently serving. The Penn State Blue Band also paid tribute to the different services of the armed forces during their halftime show. They have done this show before of course, but I thought it was worth sharing as seen from the press box, in case you can't get a good feel for what is going on.

I will be honest, I was not sure if the first tribute was to honor the Navy or the Coast Guard with this ship, and I missed the announcement and could not make out the music too well from my spot at the time. I think it was the Coast Guard but if anyone can confirm, please do so.

Next up was the Army, with a tank...

... followed by a salute to the Navy with an anchor(or Coast Guard - again, confused so please help me out)...

... next up, the Marines with an eagle...

... and finally the Air Force, with a plane.

First tribute was to the USCG.  The song played was the USCG anthem: "Semper Paratus".
